Warners holiday camp in Seaton, Devon, sits towards the eastern edge of this retirement town, at the mouth of the river Axe. It was whilst at Warners that we were introduced to "Rambles" - a stroll around the locality, with a few members of the team - usually Mark, Johnny and Buzby ad-libbing humour based upon the circumstances encountered. Actually, the stories coming out of these rambles formed a monologue delivered by Johnny Wade in 1996 in "The White Hart" in Hopton. If we can clean up our recording of that delivery enough (it is rather distorted), we'll post it on this site some day. The highlight was Buzbys vendetta against the Chief Constable of Devon! Warners was also where we were so impressed by the quality of the entertainment provided by the original wonderful team of people, that we have followed them ever since, although recent years have suggested that this particular good thing is due to end. |
