Mark has several pages and we make no excuse for it
- half a dozen words simply won’t do him justice

Mark has a legion of adoring fans who love his unique if lunatic style of almost slapstick comedy, all ready to be soaked or insulted, and willing to pay handsomely for the privilege of being on the receiving end with this laughter-meister. Year after year we’ve enjoyed a week of laughter at Marks’ antics and, from time to time, catchphrases, such as the 1987 "I dun nuthin" (when accused of causing chaos somehow).

Whilst it’s very incomplete, starting at age 17, Mark’s career resume includes:

  • 1976 - Pontins, Breen Sands (We think he was the youngest ever Ents Manager here at age 18)
  • 1978 - Pontins, Brixham Bay
  • 1984 - Potters, Hopton
  • 1986 - Warners, Seaton
  • 1988 - Potters, Hopton   - can anyone tell us more?

In our opinion, Marks’ talents compare favourably with the greatest entertainers of our day, combining comic and comedian roles with a great singing voice. These are attributes present in all of the most important members of the team over the years. Actually, whilst we refer to the team as "Starmakers", which was their orignal name back in 1986, these days they have been "re-branded" as "Potters Theatre Company". Starmakers used to be more descriptive: consider the likes of Kerry Ellis & Andy Mace for example.

If you were to chop Mark in half, he would have entertainer written right through him like a stick of Yarmouth rock. He is hugely gregarious, always making time for a chat with his legion of fans, which is the key to his popularity - not for Mark to perform then sneak off home. No, he knows most of his public by name - and there used to be several thousand regulars before Potters systematically drove them away by substantially removing Mark from the entertainment - now many of them go elsewhere.
